The Program MEDIA is one of a number of support programmes operated by the EU. It was established in 1991 and focuses on promoting competitiveness and circulation of European audiovisual works on the international market. Since 1991, the Programme has been implemented in 5 to 7 year cycles. The current MEDIA 2007 Programme was launched on 1 January, 2007 and it will run until the end of 2013.

Design
This website was designed with the primary focus of making the information easily accessible and user-friendly.
Our goal was to not only fill this necessary criteria, which, for websites of this magnitude, are absolutely fundamental, but to also satisfy the visitor with an aesthetically pleasing presentation. The various shades of blue – in addition to being part of the MEDIA identity – imply a certain corporate and trustworthy atmosphere which, along with the curved shapes and customized icons, provide a pleasant and comfortable guide through the website’s content.
The website is horizontally divided into two logical wholes.
The head of the page with the main navigation tools clearly marks its function as the basic guide-post to the site’s various content and service sections. The specific section the visitor is in is intutively highlighted with a „bubble“ along with an arrow pointing to the content section.
Each content section then has its own navigation tool on the left-hand side.
Technical Solutions
The MEDIA Desk internet presentation uses the following technologies: PHP5, MySQL5, Flash, XHTML, CSS and Javascript.
The website was created with special consideration for accessibility according to the Blind Friendly Web method as well as the rules for website accessibility issued by the Czech Ministry of Information. The website is accessible to useres with Blocked Images, Flash, Cascading Style Sheets, or Javascript.
Validity
The layout is encoded with valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
The Cascading Style Sheets are completely valid except for the transparency definitions.
