Project
Ex Oriente Film is a year-long author documentary workshop with the aim of supporting creative documentaries in Central and Eastern Europe. Every year fourteen documentary projects with an author and international potential take part in the workshop and these projects are given help with development. This workshop is intended for both starting and well-established producers, independent directors and film school graduates. It focuses on collective work on the theme, script editing and financial strategy of film production and tutorials with outstanding European directors, producers and representatives of TV stations. Ex Oriente Film offers three intensive workshops and year-long consultations with tutors. The first workshop focuses on the processing and development of a documentary project within the scope of documentary co-production. The second workshop focuses, besides script editing, on the financial and distribution strategy of a project and the way of developing production companies in Eastern Europe, while the last workshop is devoted to film sales, pitching techniques, and independent producers’ options and potential in the European film market.
