International Festival of Documentary Film Jihlava EUR 35,000
Project
The Jihlava International Festival of Documentary Film is the largest international festival of auteur documentary film in Central Europe. It consistently follows current Czech documentary filmmaking, with its diversity of tendencies, styles and topics. It covers the best from six Central European countries, and it explores and brings outstanding documentaries with unusual topics and/or aesthetics from all over the world. The festival takes place every year during the last week of October, attracting around 1,400 accredited participants, guests and journalists and 10,000 spectators. The festival’s main accompanying event is the East European Forum, accessible to the public, where documentary filmmakers have an opportunity to offer their ideas to foreign TV commissioning editors. The festival also includes East Silver – a Central and Eastern European documentary film market presenting over 400 documentary films from Poland, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, as well as from Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan.
