The One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival was founded in 1999. Currently it is one of the leading film festivals dealing with the issue of human rights in Europe and worldwide. Its programme consists not only of activist, investigative and TV films but also of the best of world quality documentary filmmaking that unveils the realities behind the global newscast. The festival takes place every March in Prague and other regions, has usually around 20,000 – 30,000 viewers, and presents about 120 films. The festival programme includes secondary and primary school screenings, panel debates, and workshops on documentary films and human rights. One World is a member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals and belongs to the founding Members of the Association of Human Rights Festivals.
