The video/DVD distributor MAGIC BOX started to operate on the Czech market in 2000. From the beginning, it ranked among the most successful independent distributors, i.e. companies that do not represent major US studios. In 2005, MAGIC BOX became the exclusive distributor for Paramount Home Entertainment in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Further, it provides for distribution of films in the theatrical distribution of Bioscop, and other pictures from foreign licensors purchased through AQS, an independent acquisition company and the parent company of MAGIC BOX. Also, the company has recently entered video/DVD distribution of local feature productions (e.g. Wrong Side Up, Dirty Soul, Shadows of the Deceased or in the future The Rafters).
