The BIOSCOP distribution company started to operate on the Czech market in 2002. After its first year in business, BIOSCOP became the most successful independent film distributor, i.e. a company that does not represent major US studios. BIOSCOP distributes a variety of films – American, European and Czech films with a quality cast and a high box office potential. Together with AQS, an independent acquisition company and its parent company, Bioscop is a producer of the long-awaited screen adaptation of the novel “I Served the King Of England” by Bohumil Hrabal. Most of BIOSCOP’s theatrically distributed films are also released in Slovakia in co-operation with Magic Box Slovakia.
